Federal Student Financial Aid Programs

You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for any of the programs discussed below. You must be a U.S citizen or an eligible noncitizen to qualify for aid. If you are in default on a student loan or owe a refund on a federal grant, you are not eligible for federal student financial aid.

Federal Work-Study Program

This program provides part-time work in order to earn money to help pay for educational costs for those students with (federal) or without (institutional) financial need. The amount of Work-Study award depends on the student's financial need (federal) and the availability of funds at Irvine Valley College. Pay rates may vary, but will not be less than the current minimum wage. Additional information is available on the Work Study page of the Financial Aid Office website.

Work Study is comprised of the Federal Work Study (FWS). This program provides part-time employment in order to earn money to help pay for education cost for those students with or without financial need. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units (half-time) in order to qualify for the program.
