About Federal Student Financial Aid Programs

NOTICEYou must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for any of the programs discussed below. You must be a U.S citizen or an eligible noncitizen to qualify for aid. If you are in default on a student loan or owe a refund on a federal grant, you are not eligible for federal student financial aid.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

This FSEOG Grant is provided to eligible students enrolled in at least 9 units and with significant financial need. Priority consideration is given to students in high-cost or high fee programs who have completed a FAFSA by March 2nd each year. Unlike Federal Pell Grants, FSEOG funding is limited. Irvine Valley College receives a specified amount of FSEOG funds each school year. Once those funds are depleted, no additional awards can be made to students. Therefore, funds are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

You will automatically be considered for this grant if you complete the FAFSA. To receive FSEOG, you must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. Funding is extremely limited.
